Chairman, Daniel Levy, said: "We were extremely reluctant to make this change and it is not a decision the Board has taken lightly, nor in haste.“ Regrettably domestic results at the end of last season and beginning of this season have been extremely disappointing.

'“It falls to the Board to make the difficult decisions - this one made more so given the many memorable moments we have had with Mauricio and his coaching staff - but we do so in the Club's best interests."

REASON FOR ARSENAL DOWNFALL REVEALED

Former Arsenal player Perry Groves has stated that  club's players have lost confidence in their manager(Unai Emery)   given their summer arrivals have failed to impress and after their poor start to the first half of the season.

He said;

“The thing with the Arsenal situation with Unai Emery is, if you watch them against Leicester, and I’ve been watching Arsenal a lot this year, there is no structure. There doesn’t seem to be any philosophy,” he told TalkSport.
“Unai Emery doesn’t seem to know his best formation, he doesn’t seem to know what players to play in that formation and I think the players have lost confidence in him. I don’t think the players are getting him at the minute.”

HUGE BOOST FOR UNITED AS PORTUGUESE MIDFIELDER COULD LEAVE SPORTING CP DUE TO FINANCIAL SITUATION

Manchester United's hopes of signing their target Bruno Fernandes will be boosted by
Sporting CP's need to clear £57m of debt, according to the Daily Mail citing Portuguese paper O Jogo.

Fernandes was on united wish list  in the summer but a deal never came through , but his asking price may have been knocked down by the Lisbon side's financial crisis , despite continuing to impress in the Premeira Liga with five goals in 10 matches.
